Along with its announcement of Android 5.0 Lollipop, Google, together with Asus, have revealed a brand new Android-based console, packed with entertainment features and the ability to play Android games on a TV using the console’s gamepad.
The Google Nexus Player, as they call it, integrated with a microphone for voice search, will be available for pre-order from today (October 17th) for $99. The gamepad will be sold separately for $39.99. Both the gamepad and the console will be hitting the shelves on the 3rd of November.
According to Google, the console features “stunning 3D graphics,” free online multiplayer and achievements synced across all your android devices.
“Nexus Player is Google Cast Ready so you can cast your favorite entertainment from almost any Chromebook or Android or iOS phone or tablet to your TV,” Google’s head of Android, Chrome and apps, Sundar Pichai said.
